Gina Joy Carano is an American mixed martial arts fighter. Carano has been referred to as the "face of women's MMA".Carano also served as a mentor to aspiring female fighters in the Oxygen reality series Fight Girls. Gina Carano appeared in Playboy and was nicknamed “The Knockout,” but in the ring, she was exposed as just another pretty face.
“I don't understand why everyone focuses on my looks,” she said. “There are a lot of beautiful women out there. It's just kind of thrown me off my feet with the attention I've gotten.”
Carano is currently set to face Cristiane Santos for Strikeforce's inaugural woman's championship in the main event of Strikeforce: Carano vs. Cyborg.
“To have the first (women's) main event in MMA history, against Cyborg of all people, is going to be amazing for me,” Carano said.
Gina Carano was “Crush” on “American Gladiators” and recently was featured on Maxim magazine's Hot 100 List.Carano came in at No. 16.
